Analyzing the role of stakeholders influencing good governance in achieving sustainable development (case study: Zanjan city)

Abstract

Introduction: approach of urban management, the creation of local, horizontal and cross-sectoral organizations in order to achieve the goals of sustainable development and civil society, as well as the division of duties between the central and local governments and the empowerment of citizens are considered basic principles that are compatible with the system. There is a difference between central, general and partial administration.
Data and Method: The present research, with a descriptive-analytical method, seeks to investigate and analyze the role of effective actors in urban governance in achieving sustainable development in Zanjan city. The statistical population includes 430,871 citizens of Zanjan, of which 384 were selected as a sample using the Cochran sampling method. To analyze the data, one-sample T test, partial least square method was used with the help of SPSS, SmartPLS software.
Results: According to the findings of the research, the coefficient of the t statistic in the urban governance index is -25.32; Sustainable development is -25.5 and the performance of organizations is 1.57. Also, according to the output of the structural equation model, the role of governance in sustainable development is equal to 0.550. With the influence of the performance index of organizations as a mediating variable, the role of governance in sustainable development has increased by 0.612.
Conclusion: The results show the direct effect of good governance in sustainable development at the optimal and ideal level. The mediating variable (performance of organizations) has a constructive role in strengthening good urban governance and subsequently achieving sustainable development.
