Abstract

IData and Method: This research is of a survey type and with a descriptive-analytical approach with the practical purpose of field regulation and information obtained using a researcher-made questionnaire. the statistical population of the research includes all the young people aged 18-35 in the three cities of Khaf, Sabzevar and Mashhad in Razavi Khorasan, and the sample size is 1135 questionnaires, which were collected by multi-stage cluster sampling in the three cities. It has been distributed and completed. Correlation coefficients, regression analysis, variance analysis were used for analysis. For this purpose, in this research, indicators such as cultural capital, media consumption and demographic variables have been investigated. A five-level Likert scale was used to measure each variable in the questionnaire.
Results: It shows that there is a relationship between the income of the head of the household and the level of social tolerance. There is a significant difference between job status and social tolerance. According to the Beta coefficients, the greatest impact related to media consumption, in the second priority, education, and in the following priorities are cultural capital, institutional cultural capital, mental cultural capital.
Conclusion: The results show that the level of social tolerance of the studied people has a direct relationship with the increase in the population of cities. As household income increases, people's social tolerance increases. Media consumption increases social tolerance.
