Abstract

This study investigates the role of tourism spaces in shaping citizens' personality and identity. The research, conducted using both quantitative and descriptive-analytical methods, examined spatial affiliation and citizen participation in the context of behavioral geography. The results showed that tourism spaces play an effective role in citizenship personality, with variables such as recognition of spaces, sense of responsibility, respect for tourists, interest in tourism space development, and tourist guidance having the most frequency and impact. The degree of correlation and direct relationship with citizenship personality increased as the number of variables increased. The effect of these variables on location and citizen participation was 0.045 and 0.038, indicating that belonging to a place plays a significant role in the importance of tourism spaces. As place belonging increases, tourism spaces can play a significant role in shaping citizens' personalities, improving tourist hospitality, monitoring and participating in tourism space protection, and fostering citizen culture.
